Driver to face court after man hit by car dies

A man has died after being hit by a car with the alleged driver to face court.

The man in his 80s was struck by a Volkswagen station wagon on Colo Road at Colo Vale in the NSW Southern Highlands about 6pm on Tuesday.

He was treated by paramedics but pronounced dead at the scene, and is yet to be formally identified.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and had his licence suspended.

He is due to face Picton Local Court on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, police are still searching for a driver after a 79-year-old man was killed in a suspected hit-and-run crash in Sydney’s west on Sunday.

Police launched a fresh appeal for information on Tuesday afternoon, seeking the driver of a blue Toyota Camry they believe was involved in the crash on Abell Road at Melonba.
